Long trip back to Kandy from Trincamalie of some 5-6 hours. Half way through it started to rain, and then the heavens opened, and it rained right through to the next day. Just before it started to rain we came across a small herd of wild elephants that were just about 150metres from the roadside.


Long time for Raja our driver to keep going. Raja (uncle) who has arranged our tour alongside Ashley, (Savi's cousin) runs a tourist transport business here in Sri Lanka. He provides a great service that we would recommend to all our friends. a long day but after a few drinks you forget all the bumps in the road. Raja and his family had bought gifts for us all to commemorate Ashika and Jasons wedding anniversary, our visit and also his daughters upcoming wedding in September. The girls each got a beautiful Sri Lankan dancing doll, the boys key rings and sarongs, and Ashika and Jason a beautiful picture of flowers in relief.
